Michelob Hosts the Fitness Class of All Fitness Classes

Los Angeles, CA – Built by technology, powered by the people. That was the theme of a highly unique outdoor workout experience hosted in Los Angeles by Michelob ULTRA. The event featured four workout stations including Vixen, Cyc, Curtis Williams Training Camp, and Training Mate. Equipped with sensor technology from Float Hybrid, each station monitored the intensity of the participants, which powered the digital signage of the infamous LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.

Cameras tracked the velocity of movement at each workout station and translated that information to the display screens. The collective group had one common goal… fill up the four digital glasses with Michelob ULTRA to unlock happy hour. Once the final glass was filled, the workout would conclude, and the beer would begin flowing.

Competitive juices started flowing at LA Live when participants realized that their movement had an impact on the digital signage. Characters on screen representing the four classes would respond to the movement of the class. The more intense the class, the more intense the character on screen.

“It was an applause meter on steroids,” says Keith Bendes, VP Marketing and Partnerships at Float Hybrid. “We leveraged technology to track the velocity of movement, whether dancing, pedaling, jumping, or doing burpees. It’s a highly unique experience that only a select few were able to be a part of.”

The “Powered by the People” activation was an event to drive awareness for the brands new festival, ULTRA Fit Fest. Taking place in Scottsdale Arizona on September 21-23, the festival is a desert getaway for fitness enthusiasts. Participants will train, spin, move, flow and recover with fitness elites that lead classes in workout that they created.
